The WCCCA Early Childhood Centre is committed to providing quality care and education to the local community.

We want families and children to feel at home in our centre, with a strong sense of belonging and safety.

Children's rights and feelings are very important to us and are always taken into consideration. Our interactions are warm, respectful and responsive.

We provide a safe environment that allows children to explore and develop socially. We support and encourage children to develop understanding and consideration of others.

We are committed to offering a varied curriculum that reflects Te Whariki - the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum - and up-to-date theories and practices in the field of education. Our curriculum reflects the interests and developmental needs of our children.

We wish to provide a relaxed and light-hearted environment where children have the time and space to develop. We want them to to be able to explore, discover, have fun and use their imaginations.

All languages, cultures, families and religions are important as part of our rich and diverse WCCCA whanau. We believe in celebrating and supporting this diversity.

We Believe...
In strong reciprocal relationships between families, children, teachers and the wider community.

In a collaborative approach to children's learning and in the direction of the centre, and encourage and support on-going communication between all involved in our centre.

That children's happiness is paramount.

In nurturing positive learning dispositions such as confidence, curiosity, creativity, humour, empathy and perseverance.

That all New Zealanders have the right to learn about Maori language and culture and that the place of Maori as Tangata Whenua of New Zealand is acknowledged and supported.
