Church Street Educare

At Church Street Educare, we provide our children with a safe, caring and warm environment through which they can grow, learn and develop into individuals who are confident, loving and caring of the environment we live in.

We encourage parent and family involvement in the day-to-day activities of the Centre by providing an environment that nurtures tha family values and beliefs of the children who attend the Centre. We alllow the children to be part of the decesions that are made in the daily routine of the Centre to encourage ownership and responsibility.

Church Street Educare believes that children are entitled to quality education and care in an environment that is loving, safe, secure and familiar to them. We operate an open door policy and embrace and encourage parent pariticipation and involvement within our Centre on a daily basis as well as in our program development as our ongoing commitment to acknowledge whanaungatanga.

Church Street Educare respects the diversity and multicultural nature of our community and reflects this diversity with our Centre as an integral part of our program and daily experiences.

ABOUT US
(Please keep the rest, as the philosophy is the only part that need changes as it
has been reviewed)
Our philosophy is founded on our aspirations for children to provide children with a safe, caring and warm environment through which they can grow, learn and develop into individuals who are confident, loving and caring of the environment we live in.

PROGRAMME PLANNING
At Church Street Educare we believe:
 That between the formative of years of birth to six, that children are developing crucial life skills so we work hard to create an environment that promotes self-help skills, independence and an appreciation of materials.
 That children are individuals within a group and we respect their rights and choices at all times.
 That children are entitled to quality education and care in an environment that is loving, safe, secure and familiar to them.
 That learning best takes place amongst peers in a social environment.
 That the relationship between families and our centre is imperative for community strengthening and support.
 That routines and rituals are important to children feeling safe and
having a sense of belonging.
 That the environment is the third teacher and plays an important role in children’s learning so we create and maintain an age appropriate environment that is conducive to each children’s learning and comfort.
